HKSFA is pleased to welcome Mr. Terence Lo, Head of Investment Banking at Co-Operative Bank (Myanmar) to present at our continuing education luncheon on the topic “Myanmar at the Crossroads: political reform and emerging culture behind a breakneck growth”. 

The discussion will begin from a brief introduction of Myanmar and its position among other ASEAN countries. It is a fresh attempt to explain the drastic change in regulatory environment and culture that poses both opportunities and challenges behind indisputable growth potential of Myanmar. Under such an evolutionary frame, the speaker will also analyze some of the landmark investments in area such as venture capital, M&A, private equity and emerging local stock market.

Mr. Terence Lo

Mr. Terence Lo is Head of Investment Banking in charge of Merger & Acquisition and IPO departments in Co-Operative Bank Ltd., (CB Bank). He also leads a Corporate Banking Team to advise on Foreign Direct Investment.
 
Before arriving in Myanmar, Terence worked 8 years at Citigroup principal financing and capital market departments in New York and Hong Kong. His focus areas included special situation and structured finance investment. Terence earned master degrees from Columbia University and Carnegie Mellon University in United States, and a bachelor degree from Queen’s University in Canada. He obtained the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter in 2014.  
 
CB Bank is one of the top commercial and investment banks in Myanmar. Since its privatization in 2012, it is the first bank to launch internet banking, credit card, POS machine, mobile money and agency banking. Its network of 200 branches and 1000 mobile agents has covered most of the major cities and rural communities in Myanmar. Its investment banking arm, CB Securities, is the only privately-owned bank to lead IPO in Yangon Stock Exchange. In 2018, CB Bank was awarded the Best Corporate and Investment Bank, Best Digital Bank and Best SME Bank by Asia Money in Myanmar.
