HKSFA identifies the need to recognise and reward those volunteers who have devoted their time, talent, effort and knowledge to the Society and the investment community in Hong Kong. We hope that the implementation of this Volunteer Recruitment Scheme can encourage, reward and lift the profile of our volunteers.

Outstanding Volunteer of the Year

Objectives
The objectives of the scheme are to acknowledge significant contributions made by individual volunteers who have developed, promoted and contributed in the programmes and activities of HKSFA, and to recognise publicly members who have voluntarily contributed their time, expertise and leadership to make a difference in the Society. 

Who are qualified to be nominees?
A member of the HKSFA who fulfills the following requirements:
  • Is not a Board of Director of HKSFA;
  • Has been a member of HKSFA for at least one year; and
  • Has served as volunteer in one or more of the committees for at least one year and is currently still a volunteer.
Who can be nominators?
  • Board of HKSFA;
  • Society Officers; or
  • Committee Members.

Mechanism of Selection:
  1. Each nominator can only nominate up to 3 candidates, unless specified otherwise.
  2. Nominations must be made using the official Nomination Form and submitted to the Volunteer Recognition Committee on or before a pre-set deadline each year.
  3. The Volunteer Recognition Committee will be responsible for screening all nominations.
  4. The Board of the HKSFA reserves the right to withhold the award if, in their judgment, no worthy nominations are received.
Selection Criteria:
The judging criteria will be based on the nominee's achievements in the year immediately prior to the receipt of the Award, as well as their past achievements and ongoing contribution to the society and the investment community. The selection criteria are:
  • Significant contribution to the society and to the investment community; 
  • Demonstration of leadership, contribute to share the experience and help other volunteers and members; 
  • Innovation and ability of problem solving;
  • Has served as role model to HKSFA members and volunteers;
  • Ability to influence fellow volunteers to achieve the desired result.

Timeline of Selection
  • The Board of the HKSFA will elect a Volunteer Recognition Committee.
  • The Volunteer Recognition Committee will make a call for nominations to all those qualified as nominators by mid October.
  • The deadline for nominations will be set by the Volunteer Recognition Committee.
  • Winners will be selected from the short list by the Committee with the approval of the Board.
  • The recipient will be announced in 4Q of the year, usually at the Charter Award Ceremony and/or Forecast Dinner.
